Choose a compatible Wi-Fi password

Current WPA2 and WPA3 Personal networks generally accept passwords from 8 to 63 characters, but individual routers and connected devices may impose narrower rules. The maximum-compatibility preset uses letters and numbers while removing visually ambiguous characters.

Store the new Wi-Fi password before applying it

Changing the network password disconnects existing devices. Save the new value securely and be prepared to reconnect authorized devices.

Use a guest network for visitors

A separate guest network can keep visitor devices away from trusted local devices and avoids repeatedly sharing the primary network credential. You can share it without typing by creating a Wi-Fi QR code.

Wi-Fi and IPsec PSKs are different workflows
