A real installable password generator app
This is a progressive web app, not a page that merely uses the word “app.” A compatible browser can add it to your operating system, launch it without ordinary browser chrome, and retain the local files needed for offline generation.
Add the app from a compatible browser without downloading an unknown executable.
The app shell and generation code remain available after the first successful load.
Passwords are created in memory and are never saved by this application.
How to install the app
Chrome on Windows, macOS, Linux, or ChromeOS
Use the install icon in the address bar when it appears. You can also open Chrome's menu, choose Cast, save, and share, then choose Install page as app.
Microsoft Edge on Windows or macOS
Use the App available icon in the address bar, or open Edge's menu and install the site from the Apps controls.
iPhone or iPad
Open the page in Safari, use Share, choose Add to Home Screen, turn on Open as Web App, and tap Add. On newer iOS releases, other supported browsers may also expose the home-screen action.
Android
Open the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. The exact label depends on the browser and device.
Where can I find the app after installing it?
Installed web apps open separately from an ordinary browser tab. If you closed the app and want to use it again, find Generate My Password using the instructions for your device.
Chrome on a computer
Open Chrome, enter chrome://apps in the address bar, and select Generate My Password.
macOS
Press Command + Space and search for Generate My Password. You can also check Applications or the Chrome Apps folder.
Windows
Open the Start menu and search for Generate My Password. Once open, pin it to Start or the taskbar for faster access.
Microsoft Edge
Open Edge and enter edge://apps in the address bar, then select Generate My Password.
Chromebook or Android
Open the device Launcher or app drawer and search for Generate My Password. It may also be on your home screen.
iPhone or iPad
Look on the Home Screen or open the App Library and search for Generate My Password.
Make it easier next time: keep the app in your Dock, taskbar, Start menu, or home screen after reopening it.
How do I uninstall the password generator app?
Removing the installed app does not require an account or a cancellation. Use the instructions for the browser or device that installed it.
Chrome on Windows, macOS, or Linux
Open Generate My Password, open the three-dot menu, choose Uninstall Generate My Password, and select Remove. You can also manage it from chrome://apps.
Microsoft Edge
Open edge://apps, select Details for Generate My Password, choose Uninstall, and confirm.
Chromebook
Open the Launcher, right-click the app icon, choose Uninstall, and confirm. Chrome may also offer to delete related browsing data.
Android
Open Settings, choose Apps, open See all apps, select Generate My Password, and tap Uninstall.
iPhone or iPad
Touch and hold the app on the Home Screen or in the App Library, choose Remove App, then choose Delete App and confirm.
Safari web app on macOS
In Finder, choose Go → Home, open the Applications folder inside your home folder, and drag Generate My Password to the Bin.
What gets deleted? Generate My Password never saves the passwords it creates. If you also delete browser data, the browser removes cached app files and site data. Passwords held in Google Password Manager, iCloud Keychain, or another password manager are managed separately.

What works offline
The generator interface, password-generation logic, styling, and app icons are cached only for the `/app/` experience. Password creation, strength estimates, exclusions, and copying remain available without a connection. Advertising and the newsletter signup require a network connection and are not part of the offline app shell.
The app's service worker is deliberately limited to `/app/`. It does not control or cache the rest of GenerateMyPassword.com, preventing app updates from serving stale copies of tools and guides.
What the app does not store
No account is required. The app does not save generated passwords, a password history, or form values in local storage or a remote database. Copy a result directly into its destination or a trusted password manager. If you close the app without saving the password elsewhere, the app cannot recover it.
Installable app versus downloaded HTML
The installable app receives normal browser-managed updates and opens from your operating system. If you prefer a single inspectable file that never needs installation, use the downloadable offline password generator.
