Current IRCTC password requirements
The official IRCTC Rail Connect Android guide says a new account password must be 8–15 characters long and contain at least one capital letter, one small letter, one numeric digit, and one special character. This generator enforces each of those four groups.
The rule was reviewed on October 6, 2026. IRCTC can change acceptance rules without updating every public document at the same time, so treat the live registration or change-password form as the final authority.
Why the generator defaults to 15 characters
Longer random passwords generally provide more possible combinations. Fifteen characters is the maximum in IRCTC's published range, so it is the default here. Every result is selected with the browser's cryptographic random-number generator and shuffled rather than placing required character types in predictable positions.
Which special characters does IRCTC allow?
The current official guide requires at least one special character but does not enumerate a complete allowed-symbol list. The generator therefore limits punctuation to @, #, $, and % as a conservative compatibility choice, not as an official exhaustive list. If the live IRCTC form rejects a generated result, generate another result and follow the validation message shown by IRCTC.
Account password, transaction password, and PIN are different
Your IRCTC account password signs you into the website or Rail Connect app. An IRCTC eWallet transaction password is a separate credential used during eWallet payments. The mobile app may also offer a PIN or biometric sign-in after account setup. Do not assume one generated value belongs in all three places.
How to use this password safely
Copy the generated value into IRCTC's registration or password-change form, save it in a reputable password manager, and keep it unique to IRCTC. IRCTC's terms make the account holder responsible for password confidentiality. Never send the password by email, chat, or an unsolicited support message.

The format above comes from the official IRCTC Rail Connect user guide. The official registration overview explains that the chosen account password is used to sign in, while the eWallet guide documents its separate transaction password.
